strange signs and portents

I'm suddenly a stranger in a familiar land...
Aliens have surely abducted me while I slept and dropped me in a world that looks exactly like the one I previously inhabited. But it can't be.... things happen here that never would have in the world I used to know.
I am not myself.
What amphibian takes the direct midday sun, unflinching for hours in it's ultra-violent embrace?
Oh, I've so much exploring to do...

I *love* this picture! Such special creatures. I've been terribly disappointed lately, noticing that my sweet little frogs are being replaced by cane toads, slowly but surely. I have 3 types that live in my house... the large green tree frogs, tiny little yellow ones and these grey/brown speckled ones that may or may not be toads but are cute just the same. The green ones sing to me every time I have a shower :) I think this one was watching you...
Thanks Bean
No cane toads here (yet) but frogs are disappearing just the same...
How cute you got singing green ones in your bathroom :)
Considering my lens was about 2cm from this guy's eye, I'm sure he was watching me! (Either that or checking out his reflection...)
Cheers!
Life is an adventure....
explore the contents of earth helps us to grow, to see things that fascinated us.
I often thought that, what I see thru my eye balls, captured in my soul, and it stay there for eternity. (Which means the more we see, the more colorful our soul are! WOW!!....)
Wish you a great trip with your beautiful soul!.....

That's just beautiful Felix :) :) :)
Thank you so much!

Better hope there are no rains of frogs then...
(Gret pic).
It's always nice to wake up inhabiting a different world. It snowed yesterday while I was sleeping. No neon green frogs, but the coyotes were screaming and howling off in the draw, and that is a little unnerving.
In answer to an earlier question you asked: Yes, that Perth.
Rev: Thanks for that link mate! I lost almost an hour there ;) I knew about rains of frogs and fish, but just had to read about exploding animals and rains of shredded mystery body parts! Maybe I am still on the same planet...
Casey: Now that's an awakening I Iike the sound of! Love to be there for one of them. (Um - that's not meant to sound gay or anything dude!) And you were in Perth? When? Why wasn't I told!? We coulda had some serious fun! O wait.... you already did ;) I'd like to know more - here's an email address if you've got the time (or if they R&R your ass to Fremantle next year)... lookau@iinet.net.au
That is a nice photo. What camera did you use?
Thanks jmf :)
With the exception of all the tibet photos (which were scanned from slides), a couple of scanned prints and anything credited to someone else, all the photos on my blog were taken with a Fuji Finepix S7000. "Prosumer" is the buzzword for that type of highend non SLR camera I believe ;)
Stunning color and clarity. Did you shoot this hand-held? If so, nicely done. The focus is crystal sharp.
Sure did trée - had a steady hand that day and fully bright noonday sun! How'd you make out the other day? Anything reveal itself?
I saw the cardinals in my backyard, with their crimson coats of royalty as if I were seeing them for the first time. I think they looked proud to be seen, or so it seemed to me. :-)
Oh man! See? There you go! Cardinals! I've only ever seen pictures of them and I'd be happy to sit all day in your back yard for a chance to make one of my own. I'd be happy to sit there all day just looking at them actually!
The scarlet counterpoint to our wrens' azure. Perfect!
It sure is a magic world trée :) Thanks my friend :) :)
Evenstar, if you go to April (and a few into May) of 2005 on my blog, you will see several pics of the hatching of baby cardinals I took from a tree in my backyard.
This one was my fav:

Hey thanks trée!
They were great! I really liked the closeup one of mom too. I had a nest right outside my kitchen window this spring, but I've always been a bit reticent to get real close with the camera...
You've encouraged me to try! Thanks :)
Evenstar, I've counted as many as eight cardinal couples in my backyard at one time. And when they are amorous and flirting, the sight of them buzzing around like so many WWII fighter planes, is a sight worth the price of admission. Of course, the fact that I have five feeders filled with cardinal birdseed hanging from my trees hasn't hurt my chances of keeping them around. :-D
Have a great weekend my friend.
Thanks trée - you too a? :) :) :)
