It may be easing into summer here as opposed to easing into winter, but we've had our share of grey, wet and cloudy. It's finally just partly cloudy today, and not raining (for now), which makes me happy. I might not mildew after all.
As always, fascinating photo. I can't begin to take awesome closeups like that. (Although we should have some fairly impressive photos of an extremely storm damaged tree coming down later today.)

Thanks Jessica - good to hear you're in no danger of mildewing now! The photo's not really that close up - those flowers are about 2 inches in diameter... Look forward to the tree pics!
Awesome photo Evenstar. I've never seen a plant or flower like that. Here, it has been hot and dry. Everything is turning brown for lack of rain. Good news is, I don't need to cut my grass as often. :-D
Hi Trée - thanks man. We got lotsa odd plants and flowers over here. I believe this one (which is also called pincushion hakea) is widely planted in Italy and America as street trees and hedges! No idea where though - keep your eye out, you never know! Heat sounds great. As does not having to cut the grass! ;)
Beautiful hakea. Wish we had some grey here, especially if it came with rain. We need it badly.
Sorry for not dropping by for such long time. The busyness of life have stress and stretch me to the MAX...gosh!
Your shots is amazing, in m'sia there is a kind of fruits that look exactly like that...we call them Rambutan! (It taste so good!)
Please do let me know your journey!
WOuld be lovely to catch up with ya!
The star would definitely guide us!
With much love......
Anaglyph: Hope it's headed your way Rev. Also hope it's got rain by the time it gets there. That was the worst of it - rain would have been great, but weeks of just... grey... eep!
Felix: That's OK Felix - I know all about that! I hope life's settling down for you now. We'll stay in touch - it would be great to catch up with you in Malaysia. Hope to see you soon...
I still can't think of what to say about this. Just amazing.
I couldn't think of much to say about it either Casey. Some things just don't need words hey?
